In a groundbreaking move, FIFAe has announced a partnership with Rocket League for its first-ever World Cup, set to take place later this year. Here is everything announced about the FIFAe World Cup featuring Rocket League.

According to the press release, 16 countries will be invited to participate, with each team fielding three-star players and one alternate. The selection process will be based on player participation in past Rocket League Major events. Players can register on FIFA.GG to learn more about qualification details in their region.

Christian Volk, Director of eFootball and Gaming at FIFA, emphasized, โ€œThe FIFAe World Cup featuring Rocket League marks a new era for FIFAe, providing a groundbreaking platform for FIFAโ€™s member associations to compete on one of the most relevant esports titles. This milestone partnership highlights our commitment to evolving our football esports ecosystem and continuing to build the biggest stages for all communities to fame their game.โ€

This tournament marks FIFA’s first event since ending its partnership with EA in 2022, after deciding not to renew their licensing agreement. Further details about the final event and participating member associations will be announced later.

FIFAe has hosted FIFA tournaments for many years. Adding Rocket League to their event lineup seems like a natural progression, especially with RLCS events prominently featured on their homepage.
