The BGMI Master Series 2024 (BGMS Season 3), one of the most anticipated third-party tournaments in India, is just around the corner. Set to be televised on Star Sports 2 and streamed on Nodwin Gaming’s YouTube channel, the tournament will kick off on July 19.
Nodwin has yet to announce the prize pool for the tournament, but they have disclosed a unique format, different from what we’ve seen so far in BGMI esports. Twenty-four notable participants will compete in the tournament. Three teams have earned spots from the TVS Wicked Battles, and one team qualified through the Philips OneBlade event.

Speaking of the Philips OneBlade event, FutureX originally came out on top to qualify for BGMS Season 3. However, due to a violation of guidelines, FutureX has been disqualified, and the slot has been reallocated to Sarkar Gaming.

Schedule and Format
The tournament features a unique format and is comprised of four main phases, namely Opening Week, League Week, Playoffs and Grand Finals. Before we take a look at the format breakdown in detail, here are the dates for the format.
Tournament Schedule:
- Opening Week: July 19 – 21
- League Week: July 22 – August 4
- Playoffs: August 6 – 7
- Finals: August 9 – 11
BGMS Season 3 will run from July 19th to August 11th, 2024, at the NODWIN Gaming Arena in Delhi NCR. The event begins with the Opening Week, which runs from July 19th to July 21st, 2024. During this week, 24 teams will be separated into three groups of eight each. There will be three matchdays with a round-robin style, featuring six matches (2 per day), and each side will play four matches. The top 18 teams will advance to the League Week, while the bottom six teams will be subject to Audience Choice. Only two teams will be saved, and the remaining four will be eliminated from the tournament.
The League Week has two sub-phases, namely Survival Week and Domination Week with 7 matchdays each with 20 qualified teams. These include 18 teams from the first week and two teams chosen by audience poll.
Survival Week takes place from July 22nd to 28th, 2024, with seven matchdays in a round-robin style. A total of 15 matches will be heldย (2 every day and 3 on Sunday), with each side playing 12 games. The detailed format for this week has yet to be announced.
Following this, Domination Week will take place from July 29th to August 4th, 2024, featuring seven matchdays in a round-robin format. The specific format for this week is still pending announcement. The top four teams in the league standings will proceed directly to the Finals, with the remaining teams going to the Playoffs.
The Playoffs will be held on August 6th and 7th, 2024, with 16 teams from League Week competing across two matchdays. There will be six matches in all, three per day, with the best 12 teams qualifying for the Finals. The Finals will be held from August 9th to 11th, 2024, with 16 teams competing over three matchdays. This contains four League Week teams and twelve Playoff teams, who will play nine matches (3 each day).

BGMS Season 3 throws in some exciting ways to score points! Here’s a breakdown:
- Powerplay: Teams earn double points for every elimination in the first phase/zone.
- League Weeks Bonuses (July 22nd – August 4th, 2024):
- Bounty: Teams receive 10 points for eliminating a Top 4 team from the last match.
- Impact Player: Teams earn double points for every finish secured by a randomly chosen player before the match, selected by the team’s IGL. This bonus is only applicable on weekends. (active only on weekends of League Week (Survival & Domination) – 27 July | 28 July | 3 Aug | 4 Aug)
