The third PlayStation State of Play from Sony has ended, delivering updates, trailers and announcements on 20 PS5 and PSVR2 games. The event ran for 30 minutes and also made some surprising announcements, including the highly anticipated Ghost of Tsushima sequel, Ghost of Yotei. Here are all the announcements made at the State of Play in September 2024.

Ghost of Yotei

Sony and SuckerPunch studios have surprised PlayStation fans by unveiling Ghost of Yotei, a follow-up of its successful Ghost of Tsushima. The game is set in 1603, hundreds of years after the prequel, and will focus on a new protagonist named Atsu. Similar to its predecessor, players can freely roam and explore the game world. The game explores the harsh and beautiful landscapes of Hokkaido, offering a fresh and immersive experience.

Ghost of Yotei will be out for PlayStation 5 (potentially for the Pro version) in 2025.

Astro Bot DLC

Team Asobi has confirmed the rumours of an Astro Bot DLC. The game was a major hit when it launched earlier this month. Building on its success, the developers plan to add five new online speedrun levels and 10 new bots to rescue as part of free DLC. This free DLC will be out sometime in Fall 2024.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Sony is leveraging the success of The Last of Us by releasing remastered versions of popular PS4 games. At the showcase, Guerilla Games announced a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn, a 2017 open-world post-post-apocalyptic adventure. The game comes with improved graphics and 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue. The remaster will be available on October 31st for PC and PS5. PS4 users who own this game can get the remastered version for $9.99.

Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom showcased an extended look at their upcoming action RPG,ย Monster Hunter Wilds. Accompanying the new trailer, Capcom also announced that the game will be released on February 28, 2025.

Hell is Us

Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. The game received a new trailer at the event and it is said to be released in 2025.

Palworld

Palworld has become a huge hit when it launched on PC and Xbox earlier this year. Despite the developer, Pocket Pair facing lawsuits from Nintendo and The Pokemon Company, it has managed to release the game on PlayStation 5. It is now available to play.

Alan Wake 2: The Lake House

Remedy Entertainment has announced a new DLC for its 2023 Survival horror game, Alan Wake 2. The game received its first DLC announcement at the Summer Game Fest, titled Night Springs. The Lake House, the second expansion for the game will be out on October 31, 2024, to make Halloween more spooky!

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is one of the best names released for PlayStation this year after Helldivers 2. The game is getting its first expansion featuring a photo mode and a crossover with PlatinumGames’ NieR: Automata. The DLC will be out later this year and its highly anticipated PC port release in 2024 is also imminent.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

Dragon Age: The Veilguad received a new look with a new gameplay trailer and a deep insight into the game’s elements. The game is set to release on October 31 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S.

Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Developer Omega Force unveiled the release date for its upcoming game, Dynasty Warriors: Origins. The game received a new trailer which shows off some in-game combat and what to expect upon its release. It will be coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on January 17, 2025.

Fear the Spotlight

Fear the Spotlight, a chilling horror game inspired by the classic PlayStation 1 era, is coming from Blumhouse. With its charming pixel art style and cozy atmosphere, this spooky title is set to terrify players starting October 22. It’ll also be available on both PC and Xbox consoles.

LEGO Horizon Adventures

The highly anticipated LEGO and Horizon crossover game is set to launch on PS5 and PC on November 14, 2024. Preorders open on October 3, offering early access to this adventure that combines LEGO’s iconic building mechanics with Horizon’s immersive open-world exploration and combat.

Sonic x Shadow Generations DLC

Keanu Reeves is set to take centre stage in the upcoming Sonic x Shadow Generations DLC, adding a thrilling twist to the Sonic universe. While specific details about his role remain under wraps, fans are already buzzing about how his iconic presence will enhance this crossover, blending the speed of Sonic with the darker edge of Shadow.

  • The Midnight Walk, from the creators ofย Lost in Random, will be coming to PSVR2 in 2025.

  • ArcheAge Chronicles, an online action RPG game will be coming to PlayStation in 2025.

  • Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1& 2 remastered will be arriving on December 10, 2024.
  • Hitman 3 VR: Reloaded will be coming to PS in December 2024.
  • Fantasian Neo Dimension is a tactical game from the creators of Final Fantasy is set to out on December 5.
  • Towers of Aghasba will be available in Early Access in November 2024.
  • PlayStation has announced new colours for the PS5 Controller – Chroma Pearl, Chroma Indigo, and Chroma Tea.
  • More PS5 Enhanced Games Revealed – Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and Metal Gear Solid Delta.
  • PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for October 2024 – WWE 2K24, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus and Dead Space.
