In today’s world, online shopping is widely considered over offline store purchases. However, it is sometimes offended with faults happening at the time of delivery like receiving wrong/defective products. A similar story has taken place in Mumbai. A Mumbaiker who ordered an AMD Graphics Card from Amazon which costs Rs 35,000 received a soap bar, a PSU, a broken chip and a fan. As per the report, the customer has placed orders for several PC items including the acclaimed graphic card.
The user had taken this matter to Twitter to expose it. According to a Twitter user, Sayantan Das placed an order for multiple PC items amounting to a total of Rs 1.56 lakhs, some of which arrived with damaged packing and an unsealed motherboard.
He said that he had accepted the damaged packing of products but was shocked to see the graphic card package as he ultimately found a soap bar, a CPU, a PSU and a broken chip. The unboxing of it is shown in the video below. Amazon Authorized dealer Appario Retail shipped the graphics card. When the consumer called Amazon assistance, he was informed that it would take three days for Amazon to look into the issue in question.
Responding to his tweet, an agent from Amazon Help replied, “We apologize for the trouble caused. We understand waiting could be bothering in this case. However, few issues might take time to resolve, as we need to work with different teams. Kindly wait till the time frame which was provided by our team. Do keep us posted.”
Amazon approved the customer’s request for a return the following day.
This is not the first time a similar incident happened upon ordering from Amazon. When a consumer purchases a PS5 God of Ragnarok bundle from Amazon India, they receive a pair of Bluetooth speakers.
Prior to making an online purchase, it is advised to double-check the information provided by the retailers or dealers on their website. To be safe and secure, one should even videotape the entire unpacking procedure in front of the delivery person. The majority of Flipkart’s expensive electronics are unwrapped in front of customers by delivery personnel.
