Nodwin Gaming, a prominent esports tournament organizer in South Asia, has entered into a collaboration with Rooter, India’s premier gaming and esports content platform, to present the BGMI Champions Cup. Additionally, Rooter organized the Rooter Underdogs event, providing an opportunity for four underdog teams to secure slots in the BGMI Champions Cup, the most significant BGMI tournament since its reintroduction.
Featuring a record-breaking prize pool of Rs 27 lakhs, the championship commenced today with the participation of 32 teams (comprising 28 invited teams and the top 4 qualifiers from Rooter Underdogs). Serving as a unique platform, Rooter Underdogs is the sole event post-BGMI relaunch that has allowed underdog teams to compete alongside some of India’s top teams.
A total of four teams have successfully earned qualification for the BGMI Champions Cup through the Rooter Underdogs event. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing tournament.
Nodwin Gaming X Rooter BGMI Champions Cup: All You Need to Know
As mentioned earlier, the tournament will witness 32 teams in action for 12 days, starting today. The total teams will be split into four groups with eight teams each. Here is a list of teams that are participating in the event:

Tournament Format, Broadcast Details and Schedule
The above-mentioned teams will fight in a round-robin format among four groups. The Semi-finals will be played from 21 June to 28 June which means a total of 8 matchday. Each day, teams will play a total of 6 matches which amounts to a total of 48 matches. The top 16 teams from the Semi-Finals will be qualified for the Grand Finals.
The Grand Finals are set to take place from 29 June to 2 July with 16 finalists from the Semi-Finals. Fans can catch the live action of the tournament every day on Nodwin Gaming’s Rooter Channel starting at 1 PM IST Each day.
Prize Pool Distribution
A total of Rs 27 lakh prize pool is distributed among the teams as below:
- 1st place: Rs 12 lakhs
- 2nd place: Rs 6 lakhs
- 3rd place: Rs 3 lakhs
- 4th place: Rs 1.5 lakhs
- 5th place: Rs 1 lakh
- 6th place: Rs 75000
