In a groundbreaking announcement at the 2024 Halo World Championship, Microsoft’s 343 Industries unveiled a transformative shift for the beloved Halo series. The studio has officially rebranded as Halo Studios and adopted Unreal Engine 5 as the engine for all future Halo games.

Halo Studios to Use Unreal Engine 5 for Future Halo Games

For years, Halo games were powered by 343’s proprietary Slipspace Engine. However, as gaming has evolved, so have the demands of players, and the studio found it increasingly difficult to keep up. Moving to Unreal Engine 5 allows Halo Studios to develop new games more efficiently, reduce development timelines, and expand the series in ways previously impossible.

Studio Art Director Chris Matthews emphasized the importance of the transition: “Nanite and Lumen, Unreal’s advanced rendering and lighting technologies, will allow us to create immersive worlds and experiences like never before.” Additionally, adopting Unreal makes it easier to recruit new talent, as the engine is widely used in the gaming industry.

While Halo Infinite will continue to receive updates through its existing Slipspace Engine, the future of Halo lies in Unreal Engine 5. The studio has confirmed that multiple new games are currently in development, though details remain under wraps.

One of the most talked-about aspects of the announcement was Project Foundry, a research initiative within Halo Studios designed to explore the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5. While not a new game in itself, Project Foundry serves as a proof of concept, demonstrating how future Halo titles might look and feel. According to the studio, the visuals and gameplay elements seen in Foundry are expected to carry over into upcoming projects.

As Halo Studios embarks on this new chapter, fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming Halo games. With a renewed focus on innovation and player satisfaction, the future of the franchise looks promising.

SuperGaming, one of India’s top game development studios, has officially revealed the release date for its highly anticipated battle royale game, Indus. The game was announced in January 2022, and after multiple community playtests and beta tests, the game is finally coming to mobile. Here are more details.

Indus Battle Royale Launch Date Announced

Indus Battle Royale is slated to launch on October 16, 2024, for both Android and iOS devices. The game was announced to launch for PC, Console and Mobile, but, SuperGaming has not announced a release date for PC and console.

In addition to announcing the release date, SuperGaming has released a cinematic trailer that offers a glimpse into the intense combat that awaits players in the world of Virlok. The trailer focuses on Adi, a character who embarks on a quest to collect the rare resource Cosmium while also seeking revenge against his rival, Pokhran.

The trailer also introduces the Grudge feature, which allows players to track down and battle opponents who have defeated them in previous matches. This adds a new layer of strategy and personal stakes to the game.

One of Indus’ unique features is its dual victory condition. Players can win by either being the last survivor or by collecting Cosmium, which appears in the final circle of the game. This twist adds complexity and strategy to the traditional battle royale format.

Having spent nearly two years in its beta phase, Indus has undergone extensive testing, with feedback from players around the globe playing a key role in refining the game’s development. During the beta phase, the game garnered over 12.5 million pre-registrations on Android alone, setting the stage for one of the largest game launches out of India this year. Notably, SuperGaming organized two esports tournaments during the beta period, boosting anticipation among fans.

Palworld mobile port has been officially confirmed, as developer Pocketpair has partnered with PUBG creator Krafton Inc. to bring the popular game to mobile devices. The announcement was made on October 2 through Krafton’s Korean website.

Krafton Secures Global License to Make Palworld Mobile Port

According to the translated official blogpost, Krafton plans to “faithfully reinterpret” Palworld’s “main fun elements to fit the mobile environment.” Krafton also confirmed that this mobile port will be handled by the development team of ‘PUBG STUDIOS,’ a creative studio under Krafton.

palworld mobile

PUBG Studios is well-known for developing the acclaimed battle royale title for PC and its successful mobile versions. Both the PC and mobile versions have been hugely popular since their release. With the studio taking on the mobile port of this year’s Pokémon-inspired game, expectations are high for another outstanding adaptation.

Dubbed ‘Pokémon with guns,’ Palworld quickly became a sensation after its January release on PC and Xbox, with millions of copies sold. Recently, Pocketpair has released the game for PlayStation 5, except in Japan.

Despite facing legal challenges from The Pokémon Company and Nintendo over alleged patent infringement, Pocketpair remains committed to the growth and expansion of Palworld. While the lawsuit has delayed the game’s release in Japan, it did not prevent its launch on the PlayStation 5 elsewhere.

In the face of these obstacles, the decision to develop a mobile version of Palworld reflects the developers’ confidence in the game’s appeal and their ambition to reach an even wider audience. Partnering with Krafton, renowned for its hit mobile games like PUBG Mobile, further enhances the potential for a successful mobile port.

Neither Krafton nor PockePair has confirmed a release date for Palworld Mobile. The game is currently available on PC, Xbox and PS5 for Rs 2,415.
