PUBG 2022 Esports Roadmap: Despite the severity of the pandemic in 2021, the gaming and esports scene continued to thrive. Throughout the year, numerous events and tournaments centred around battle royale games unfolded, showcasing both offline and online formats. As the year 2021 draws to a close, Krafton has unveiled the Esports Roadmap for 2022, outlining the upcoming plans for PUBG, a trailblazer in the realm of mobile gaming.

The South Korean gaming company has unveiled their tournament plans that were set to take place all along in the upcoming year (2022). PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2021 is the final event of PUBG’s competitive scene and this will be concluded by the end of January 2022. Krafton wants to keep up the pace of its competitive scene, the organizer has revealed a glimpse of the tournaments or events that will be conducted in the year 2022.

PUBG 2022 Esports Roadmap: List of Tournaments

As mentioned in the official blog post, a total of $15,000,000 worth of prizemoney has been granted for the events that took place till December 2021, in which nearly half of it was contributed by fans. Here are the tournaments that are set to take place in 2022.

PUBG Continental Series (PCS)

PUBG Continental Series was announced as a substitution for the 2020 PUBG Global Series. 2022 will have PCS6 in April and PCS7 in September in which teams from APAC, Europe, Asia and North America will partake in their respective regional championship.

PUBG Nations Cup will make a comeback in June 2022. This has been the favourite event for both fans and organizers due to its unique format.

PGC 2022

This stands as the largest tournament, granting slots to the top-performing teams. The PGC is scheduled for the year’s conclusion, where elite teams, including respective regional champions, will receive invitations to participate.

Additionally, a variety of third-party tournaments with modest prize pools will be organized. These regional tournaments serve as a platform for teams to refine their skills before venturing into global events.
