Valorant Patch 9.09: Major Bug Fixes and Gameplay Enhancements
Agent Improvements
Riot tackled several agent-related bugs to improve game mechanics:
- Instalock Animation: Players who choose to interlock their agents will immediately see the locking animation in Agent Select mode, ensuring a smoother selection process.
- Yoruโs Nocturnum Scythe: Yoruโs scythe now functions as intended, with correct positioning after using his Dimensional Drift ability.
- Gekkoโs Thrash Movement: Gekkoโs Thrash can now handle small jumps more easily, aligning better with player movement.
- Deadlockโs ANNIHILATION Pull: A previous issue causing pulled players to get stuck on ledges has been resolved, streamlining combat sequences.
- Fadeโs Prowler Tracking: Fadeโs Prowler now stays focused on its target during its Bite, unless it teleports out of its sightline.
- Astraโs Spycam Alert: Astra will now receive an audio alert when Cypherโs Spycam watches her, enhancing her awareness of surveillance.
- Killjoyโs Turret Range Display: The minimap now consistently displays the deactivation range for Killjoyโs Turret, regardless of weapon switches.
- KAY/O and Yoru Interaction: KAY/O can no longer be picked up by Yoru while his NULL/cmd ability is active, preventing unintended interactions during Dimensional Drift.
Map Fixes
On the Abyss map, Riot addressed an exploit where players could destroy the breakable mid-doors from certain angles, restoring the intended balance to this area.
Platform-Specific Adjustments
PC Updates
In Premier mode, the standings dropdown now displays Invite divisions for all zones and automatically adjusts the zone selection based on the chosen division. Other PC-specific bug fixes include:

- Field of View (FOV) Exploit: Riot has removed an FOV stretching exploit that occurred with a 4:3 resolution in windowed mode.
- Premier Competitor Crest: The Competitor Crest now correctly displays on the Premier career page for players who have earned it.
Console Updates
For console players, button designs have been updated to distinguish radio buttons from checkboxes for clearer navigation. Social features also received attention:
- Voice Chat Stability: Players with extensive block lists should now encounter no issues joining voice chat.
- Friend Requests: Issues with friend requests on consoles, such as blocked players receiving them or requests failing to send, have been resolved.
